- After creating the VM instance it is suggested I change my temporary password, but how do I do that exactly? Is it necessary? I have set up ssh without using the temp password and all SEEMS well.
To change the password for a user, you must execute the
sudo passwd YOUR_SYSTEM_USER
To change the password for the root user:
The password is not needed for SSH because you're already connecting via private keys (this is the default configuration for the Bitnami instances, you can choose to use password-only or both for verifying).
- I notice in the home folder there's a bitnami folder and a [username] folder, but the username folder seems to just have mirrored the bitnami folders (apps, htdocs, stack) ... do I build my web app in the apps folder? I am used to having a www folder in my username folder for web directories. Do I need to config apache to look in my username folder?
