Dear all,
I am having a problem when adding a revision to a document.
The error I get is “Operation not permitted @ apply2files - /media/WinShare/dmsf/2021/04/210420134032_464_TES-xx-xx-713_01_BOM.xlsx”.
I can upload files without any problem, but then I want to update a revision I get this error.
When I look in the folder when the documents are uploaded, I can find the new file. However I cannot reach it from the redmine website.
In the following the production log from redmine.

I am using:
Redmine version 4.1.1.stable
Ruby version 2.5.8-p224 (2020-03-31) [x86_64-linux]
Rails version
Environment production
redmine_dmsf 2.4.5

The files are in a Windows Shared Folder, but I was not having any issue with Redmine version 3.3.2.stable and DMSF plugin 1.5.9

Hi @GuidoV,

Thank you for using Bitnami. If you can upload files to the application but can’t edit/update them, I understand that’s a problem related with the application and the plugin you are using. I suggest you ask the plugin’s developers to know more about the error. You can also post your question in the Redmine’s forum so other people can also help you.

Do not hesitate to write us back if you have any other questions

Happy to help!

Solved, but I do not know ifin the correct manner.
I am using a Windows Shared folder mounted at start-up.
In the mounting instruction I also specified ownership information: I had the problem with bitnami and www-data users.
The only way I do not have problems is assigning the ownership to daemon. I deduced this by using a different folder on the virtual machine and verifying the ownership of the uploaded files.

Hi @GuidoV,

daemon is the user Apache and other services use to serve your application files. If you set the shared folder to be owned by daemon, you shouldn’t have problems with the application.

Enjoy
