We included Ruby 2.4.x in all the Discourse 2.x versions we released. Could you please let us know from which version to which one you are trying to upgrade the application?
I was sure I installed this one : https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/B00NPHKUB4
But that is showing as 2.0.2 - The version I have (had?) is 1.9.7 ( bitnami-discourse-1.9.7-1-linux-ubuntu-16.04-x86_64 ) And I cant find that on the marketplace anymore.
As our guide mentions, you need to launch a new image with the new version of Discourse, migrate the database and run the commands in the new server. This new servers should have Ruby 2.4.x
I don't know how migrating the database is a solution for upgrading? What about the rest of the server config? Are we expected to re-configure SSL and Apache for each upgrade? And re-install the plugins as well?
Hopefully I'm missing something.
Are you trying to upgrade from an old Discourse installation in the cloud to a new one in your local server or is the new server another cloud one?
I am trying to upgrade the same server, which is in the cloud.
Are you using the same cloud platform? AWS or Google? You specified that you have an AWS image but then followed the Google documentation
Oh. My bad. I didn't see the Google part on that page, I followed the link from another thread. Definitely AWS.
We haven't gone live yet. So I suppose I should just blow it away and start my config over again with the new image.
Thanks for the help.
