Working through some site migrations and weeding through the wiki/guides etc of how to run multiple modules of the same type on a single stack it occurs to me that it would be relatively easy to create a custom "MyApp" module that you could define the appname and it would create and provide the mysql account info etc. This would be exceptionally useful when trying to upgrade an existing setup that runs on an older version. For example migrating from a Joomla 1.5 install to current. I find it less leg work to install another module (drupal for example) and copy out the DB info, swap out the htdocs for the install archive contents and manually install the app version I need to do test upgrades than jump through all the command line and file edit hoops required to add a custom app even though my url is 127.0.0.1/drupal. Alternatively, it could prompt you to define the application name during the module setup, but the idea for a MyApp module would help speed up custom deployments and make bitnami even more user friendly.
