My wordpress site is hosting one website, and I've configured an old URL to redirect to it. I'm trying to get a certificate for the URL being redirected, so that an HTTPS request to the old site gets redirected to the new one. When I run the letsencrypt/generate-certificate script, I get an error "Invalid character in DNS name", but the only characters in any of the names are letters and dots. My question is, is the URL I'm trying to get a certificate for being redirected causing a problem? Is it possible that the error is actually because Lego can't verify the domain name because it receives a 301 for it?
