Keywords: WordPress - Amazon Web Services - Technical issue - Secure Connections (SSL/HTTPS)
I've set up a single-site Bitnami wordpress site on AWS.
I chose to use an AWS certificate using Certificate Manager. However, this option does not allow you to install the certificate on the server, so you need to use another solution. I chose to use an AWS load balancer (using only one server). I set it up following these instructions: https://docs.bitnami.com/aws/how-to/configure-elb-ssl-aws/
However, this solution does not automatically forward http to https. When I visit my site, it is not secure. I think it is because it sees mixed content (not 100% sure).
AWS has cloudFront, which allows you to redirect http to https, so I set this up and pointed it to my load balancer. This gives me a secure site with the green "secure".
However, when I try to log into the admin site, I now get "Cookies are blocked or not supported by your browser. You must enable cookies to use WordPress.".
If I just have the load balancer, I also get the cookie error, but I can get past it by hitting refresh. I cannot get past it with CloudFront turned on.
My goal is to have a secure site AND be able to log into the admin screen. Any ideas?
