Connected WordPress instance on LightSail to FileZilla using SSH and could access directories and files but facing permission issues while editing

Description:
I have connected my WordPress instance on LightSail to FileZilla using SSH. I could access directories and files such as wp-content, plugins, and the exact plugin with whom I want to work (tablepress-datatables-inverted-filter). But as I try to edit or remove the PHP file under the plugin directory, I am denied.

Here is the message if I try to delete:

/opt/bitnami/apps/wordpress/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/tablepress-datatables-inverted-filter/tablepress-datatables-inverted-filter.php: open for write: permission denied

Help appreciated.

Hello @rajbag2015,

Did you try prepending sudo? Something like this should work:

sudo rm /opt/bitnami/apps/wordpress/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/tablepress-datatables-inverted-filter/tablepress-datatables-inverted-filter.php

I am accessing through FileZilla.

I could not see any directory starting with sudo.

Solved this problem by typing following commands:

sudo adduser bitnami daemon
sudo su bitnami -'unmask 0002'
