Did you modify that configuration file? Our tool reads the information from that file to obtain the name of the database, the username and the password to access it using some regular expressions.
You can follow the manual approach to change the password
- Get the information of the current user
mysql -u root -p bitnami_mybb
select * from mybb_users where uid='1';
This second command will print the information of the user with uid = 1, is that the user you want to modify? If so, please copy the salt and password values in case we need to restore the values. Now you will need to calculate some values before updating the database.
- Calulate the md5 hash of the current salt value
- Calculate the md5 hash of the new password you want to use
- Concatenate the result of 1 and 2 and calculate the md5 hash of that.
UPDATE mybb_users SET password='RESULT_OF_3' WHERE uid='1';
