This issue seems to be related to a wrong permission configuration, according to the error trace, the service cannot write on
/opt/bitnami/mysql/tmp/ after your permissions changes. To revert the changes only in this directory and return to the original value, you can run this command
sudo chmod 777 /opt/bitnami/mysql/tmp/
After that, you should be able to restart the service running
sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh restart mysql
If it does not work, can you paste here the output of the following commands?
ls -larth /etc/gonit/gonitrc
ls -larth /opt/bitnami/config/monit/bitnami.conf
ls -larth /opt/bitnami/mysql/
I hope this information is useful for you.
