Can't restart ghost on VM

Keywords: Ghost - Virtual Machines - How to - Permissions

Description:
I’m not able to issue a restart command for ghost on the VM debian stack. If I do it as the plain user it says permission denied. If I try it with sudo it says only a plain user is allowed to issue the restart command. So what gives? Currently the only way to restart ghost is to restart the entire VM.

Hi @mumia,

You should be able to restart the services inside the VM using the following command

sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh restart

https://docs.bitnami.com/virtual-machine/faq/administration/control-services/

However, if you continue running into issues, please create a new ticket in the forum using the “Technical issue” category so you review all the information the wizard provides when evaluating the information.

Thanks
