Can't reset mysql password

Following the instructions in - when trying to log in (mysql -u root -p’mynewpassword’) I get ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user ‘root’@‘localhost’ (using password: YES)

Thanks for using Bitnami. You don’t need to use quotes to provide the new password in the command line

mysql -u root -pmynewpassword

However, it isn’t recommended to provide passwords in the command line, so we recommend to run the command with the -p option only, which will prompt you for the password. Notice it won’t show any character as you type, but the command is getting your keystrokes properly

mysql -u root -p
