I am running Drupal 8 on a Debian 7.9 VM on Google Cloud. This page says that FTP is already set up in Drupal images, but I haven't been able to install a module via FTP. When I go to the admin panel and enter the URL for a module I want to install, it takes me to [host]/core/authorize.php and asks for my FTP credentials. No matter what I enter, the installation does not proceed.
What else do I need to do?

Great, thanks for looking into it. How will I know when the new version is ready?

Was this issue ever fixed?
We are getting an error:Cannot log in to FTP server. Check username and password
Where can we find these credentials?
we are using Drupal 8.2 on debian and google cloud as well.
This issue is fixed since 8.0.5-2 version (see https://bitnami.com/stack/drupal/changelog.txt):
Version 8.0.5-2 2016-03-29
* Fix FTP for cloud images
You mentioned that you are using Drupal 8.2 but the last version we released for Google Cloud was 8.1.10-0. I have tested the last version published and I didn't find any problem uploading any plugin. I just click continue using the FTP credentials already configured and everything was fine.
