Hello @Nickji,

Could you please take a look at this documentation?

Regards

There’s no my.cnf on my installation on a Win10 machine, so I added “innodb_force_recovery=1” to my.ini. I presume the .cnf file would be on Linux.

I then did the following:

W:\Bitnami\wampstack-7.4.21-0\mariadb\bin>mysqld --skip-grant-tables --user=mysql --skip-external-locking --port=3306 --socket=Bitnami\wampstack-7.4.21-0/mariadb/tmp/mysql.sock
2021-07-20 12:16:41 0 [Note] mysqld (mysqld 10.4.20-MariaDB) starting as process 15364 ...

W:\Bitnami\wampstack-7.4.21-0\mariadb\bin>mysql -u root -p
Enter password: ********
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)

So I tried:

W:\Bitnami\wampstack-7.4.21-0\mariadb\bin>MariaDB> use mysql;
'MariaDB' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

I’m not that familiar with the command prompt, so I stuck now!

Is it possible that installing wampstack on a removable hard drive won’t work fully if the drive is moved to a different computer? It has the same drive letter on both of them.

Hi @Nickji,

Sorry, the documentation references to Linux, we will update it for Windows. On Windows this file would be my.ini file.

This should work and it is really weird that the same data is working in one instance and failing in the second one. Did you install it directly on an external hard drive or did you copy it?

Could you try to run MySQL manually with this command?

W:\Bitnami\wampstack-7.4.21-0\mariadb\bin\mysqld.exe "--defaults-file=W:\Bitnami\wampstack-7.4.21-0\mariadb\my.ini"

Please share with us the output.
