Keywords: ELK - Google Cloud Platform - How to - OtherDescription: I just installed a new Bitnami ELK VM from Google Cloud Marketplace and I need to be communicating from some external VM (an instance group of web servers). While locally everything is running smoothly, when I try to run the netcat commandnc -vv 10.132.xx.yy 9200it hangs and cannot connect.I've already edited elasticsearch.yml to change network.host and network.publish_host (the latter has been changed in the private IP of the server (so 10.132.xx.yy)What's wrong?iptables has been removed on the ELK VMAny idea on where to look?ThanksMoreno
Sorry, was my fault, VMs are on different subnets of the same network and while they can ping themselves, I thought they could communicate on every port. After creating an ad-hoc firewall rule everything went up and smooth....
Thanks for your timeMoreno.
