When I previously configured the bitnami-elasticsearch-7-5-0-0-linux-debian-9-x86-64 there was no problem, it responded via http port 80 with a web ui and I could connect to it from python like this
from elasticsearch import Elasticsearch
es = Elasticsearch(["http://user:firstname.lastname@example.org:80/elasticsearch"])
Now with the new version bitnami-elasticsearch-7-8-0-0-r01-linux-debian-10-x86-64-nami it doesn't work. Cannot access it via http even though I try to open it. It seems that the web server is not running because even if I log in to the host with ssh and do wget localhost there is no response.
Maybe I forgot to start the port 80 web server somehow?
I could deploy the older version and access it via http with the elasticsearch-dl python API. But the new one does one work. I open port 80 in the firewall settings and allow 0.0.0.0/0. I also set it to listen at 0.0.0.0 in the file as described in the instructions at bitnami.com/google/apps/elasticsearch/administration/connect-remotely/
