Description:
Dear support,

Our website has been running for weeks without any issue and today evening in the span of few hours the size of the binary logs.
In 1 hour 7 binary logs with 1.1 GB size are getting created.

I have added an expiry to my.cnf file in MySQL but it does not seem to work. The screenshot is attached for your reference.

Need your help to resolve this issue.

Hello @ursgerard81,

Thanks for using our WP stack! A high number of incoming requests originate from one or more unique IP addresses. This could indicate a bot attack.

-----------------------------------
Check performance issues: Count number of requests for the 10 most active IP addresses in the last 100.000 requests
-----------------------------------
Running: tail -n 100000 access_log | awk '{print $1}' | sort | uniq -c | sort -nr | head -n 10 | awk '{print $1}'
In: /opt/bitnami/apache2/logs/

Output:

53302
594
588
588
571
553
552
551
549
547

The following guide shows how to check for and block suspicious IP addresses, could you check it and block any suspicious IP:

Francisco de Paz
