I'm looking to connect remotely to the Bitnami WP container's MySQL via Sequel Pro and I'm not having any luck.
Unable to connect to host 127.0.0.1 because access was denied.
Double-check your username and password and ensure that access from your current location is permitted.
MySQL said: Access denied for user 'root'@'127.0.0.1' (using password: YES)
I used the following configuration to connect
MySql Host: 127.0.0.1
SSH Host: [hidden] "IP from AWS console"
SSH User: bitnami
SSH Key: "path/to/key/file"
For reference, I can SSH into the machine using the PEM file and connect to MySql using the above credentials when running mysql -u root -p and then using my password. So my guess is that it's some type of firewall/port forwarding issue, but I have no idea.
There are a lot of similar posts out there, in which posters link to various resolution topics. Unfortunately, all these links are broken and no answer is available.
What should I do?
