AWS Lightsail - change instance plan on created instance

Dear,
I have created instance on AWS Lightsail on the basic plan - 3.5USD (512MB, 1vCPU, 20GB ssd). But now I would like to upgade my instance to a higher plan, more memory, CPU, traffic. I am sorry, I canot find the setting for that. Is it possible? Thanks a lot Tom

Hi @tomasjurman,

I do this all the time. You simply just create a snapshot of the instance either manually or if you have automatic snapshots in place. Click on the three dots next to the snapshot, select “create new instance”, and then you can choose the instance size. Once you’ve created the new snapshot, if you have a static IP setup for the old instance, simply detach it and attach it to the new instance.

Don’t forget to enable automatic snapshots if you use them on the new instance as they are off by default.
