I am having one heck of a time getting pagination + custom post types working. My feed has 300 posts and clicking the |1|2|3|4|5| buttons to navigate through the pages brings back seemingly random results.
As far as I can guess, It seems like my permalinks need to be refreshed (not sure if that's the right term in this case) in order to shuffle everything into order.
I've been told to go to wordpress -> settings -> permalinks to do this, but this message is waiting for me:
If your .htaccess file were writable, we could do this automatically, but it isn’t so these are the modrewrite rules you should have in your .htaccess file_
I found this thread. I understand there is no .htaccess file because of security reasons that I can't start to comprehend at my level, but I was unable to apply the recommended fix anyhow. I make sure to restart apache with sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh restart apache every time I make an edit to any config files.
Can anyone provide assistance? Will this "if your .htaccess file were writable" message always exist? I have apt-get updated + upgraded, + running the latest version of WordPress.
