I moved from my old hoster to Amazon Lightsail using bitnami LAMP. Since the migration I have experienced some really weird behaviour that I can't explain.
E.g. I deploy my PHP application in htdocs, everything is working fine the website is reachable from the browser via the Lightsail instance IP. After a while the website stops working, I enable error logs and see that there is error with the include path of a file. Fine, I fix it, it works, after an hour or so, it stops working and a different error shows up.
Similarly mod_rewrite seemed to work via the instance IP as well as Load Balancer, after a few hours without me interacting with the instance in any way, rewrite stops working. I found out that I have to configure the AllowRewrite All in the httpd.conf to use .htaccess in htdocs. I made the change and it works. My question is, why did it work before?
I have no idea what is happening but it seems like the Apache is changing its behaviour without me interfering in any way. in botch cases, PHP and rewrite. I know I probably won't get a solution for this here with this vague description, I am just wondering if there is any explanation you could think of?
Thanks a lot
