I'm using a freshly installed Bitnami Node v12.1.0 on a new Amazon Ligtsail instance. This is the latest version, installed automatically by Amazon. No added plugins, no modifications.
I gave the Lightsail instance a static ip so it's reachable from the Internet. That ip does not show up when I run ifconfig on the server.
I'm running a simple Node.js "hello world" app just to make sure it works. The app works for localhost if the listening command is: app.listen(3000, '127.0.0.1');
However, if I try to use: app.listen(3000, 'my.static.ip.here') the app produces an error that says "listen EADDRNOTAVAIL: address not available."
Can someone help me figure out how to get this usable from the Internet?
This is probably a question for Amazon but I'm hoping someone here knows.
Thanks very much!
