We just detected an issue in the cron configuration for the
lego tool we include in this Bitnami solution. This cron job takes care of renewing the SSL certificates monthly.
We also want to inform you that this issue only affects users who have configured a cron job in their instances either using the generate-certificate.sh script bundled inside the WordPress with NGINX solution or following our documentation to install lego in a running instance. Our documentation has already been updated with the proper information.
To check if you are affected, please view the configured cron jobs in your instance by running the following command:
If you configured the cron job in the
root user's crontab, you will need to use this command:
sudo crontab -l
If the previous commands show any of the lines below, you are affected.
* * 1 * * /opt/bitnami/letsencrypt/lego --path="/opt/bitnami/letsencrypt" --email="YOUR_EMAIL" --domains="YOUR_DOMAIN" renew && /opt/bitnami/nginx/sbin/nginx -s reload
* * 1 * * /etc/lego/renew-certificate.sh 2> /dev/null
To resolve this issue, please modify the line starting with:
* * 1 * *
0 0 1 * *
Save your changes once done.
With this change, your SSL certificates will be renewed at 12:00 AM on the first day of every month.
If you don't have any of those lines in your crontab configuration, you are not affected by this issue.
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to open a new thread.
