Hello, I have an website up on AWS Lightsail that I moved over from a shared hosting server. The site was up and running fine for a few days, then suddenly today is virtually not accessible.
I started by restarting Apache and then the whole server. Next I looked at file permissions, cache folders, and other areas of the site but I'm stumped. In addition to a slow/timeout on the WordPress website (frontend and wp-admin), the SSH interface on the server is slow, my connection to the server using Cyberduck on my Mac is slow, and doing anything is taking a long time or timing out.
I've also checked the instance resources and have not been heavily using anything or gone into any high burstable range as far as I can tell.
My only guesses as to what is going on are:
1) Something is broken with the caching that I don't understand - I changed from WP Super Cache to W3TC on Monday when I switched from the old host to AWS, but it was working fine even until last night.
2) Some cache folder grew to a huge size and ate up the entire 20GB of the disk - As far as I know, the site has about 5GB of files. I'm having trouble verifying directory sizes in SSH.
I've tried a handful of commands and theories from this forum and many others before posting here, but I'm still stuck and not sure how to get this back up and running without killing the whole instance and restoring it from a backup, which isn't ideal.
Hosting: AWS Lightsail Instance - 512 MB RAM, 1 vCPU, 20 GB SSD
Thanks in advance!
