I am using a MacBook running OSX 10.7 I downloaded the bitnami wordpress module and ran the following command line

then I choose English to be the language.
Then I choose the folder for installation to be:
I then enter
real name: Trassel Sudd
email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
existing mysql password for BitNami: bitnami
Press next and get the following error:
Error running unknown variable database_binary_directory/mysql -u root --password="****" -P***unknown variable database_port*** -h***unknown variable database_hostname*** -e "show databases;" : /bin/sh: unknown variable database_binary_directory/mysql: No such file or directory
and all I wanted for Christmas was two wordpress installations locally on my mac.

try double clicking the app file or using using open from the command shell.
Let me know if that helps.

WordPress has a parameter to specify the instance name. You need to run the installer from a command shell with the parameter --wordpress_instance_name instance_name
Let me know if that help you.
